Robotics-grade steel CNC machining

Precision Carbon & Alloy Steel CNC Machining for Robotics

RobotPartsCNC provides custom CNC machining services for high-strength steel components used in robotics and automation. We produce parts engineered for high loads, continuous motion, heat treatment, hardness, and wear resistance.

From one-off prototypes to repeat production orders, we machine shafts, pins, gripper jaws, actuator parts, and drive components according to your technical drawings and specifications.

Material capabilities

Select the steel grade around the load case

Robotics applications often require a careful balance of yield strength, fatigue resistance, machinability, surface hardness, and dimensional stability after heat treatment.

We maintain consistent sourcing for carbon steels, alloy steels, and tool steels used in structural, motion-control, gripping, and transmission components.

Robotics applications

Steel parts engineered for repeated motion and load

We machine components that operate under friction, impact, clamping force, torque, and continuous cycling.

01

Drive & motion components

Precision shafts, motor mounts, output flanges, and transmission parts requiring high concentricity and reliable torque transfer.

02

Actuator & gearbox parts

Housings, bearing seats, pins, and mating features machined for tight fits and stable performance in actuator assemblies.

03

Grippers & EOAT

Hardened gripper fingers, jaws, mounting plates, and tooling components built to withstand repeated clamping forces and abrasion.

04

Structural elements

Rigid base plates, brackets, frames, and mounts for applications where steel strength is preferred over lighter aluminum alternatives.

Precision machining

Controlled machining for tight fits and hard materials

Machining steel requires rigid setups and controlled cutting parameters to manage tool wear, heat, and material stress. Our 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC equipment supports complex geometries and tight geometric tolerances.

Secondary processing

Parts ready for assembly

We coordinate secondary processes to support the required hardness, wear resistance, corrosion protection, and dimensional stability of your steel components.

  • Hardening, carburizing, and nitriding
  • Black oxide and zinc plating
  • Electroless nickel plating
  • Process coordination for post-treatment dimensions

Quality control

Reliable inspection for critical robotic parts

Steel components often undergo hardening and finishing processes that can affect dimensions. Our inspection process verifies the drawing requirements at each important stage.

Dimensional verification

CMM, bore gauges, and thread gauges verify dimensions, true position, parallelism, and perpendicularity.

Documentation

Dimensional inspection reports, FAI reports, and material certificates are available upon request.

Traceability

Lot traceability is maintained from raw material procurement through machining and secondary processing.

DFM support

Improve manufacturability before production

Our engineering team reviews CAD models and 2D drawings to identify steel machining risks such as tool deflection in deep cavities, difficult internal features, and material stress relief.

01

Radii optimization

Internal radii are reviewed against standard milling tools to reduce cycle time and tool wear.

02

Tolerance stack-up

Tight tolerances are assessed for functional necessity, helping control production costs without compromising fit.

03

Threaded features

Thread depths and types are checked for compatibility with the selected steel grade and machining approach.

Prototype to production

Flexible capacity for every development stage

1

Prototypes · 1–50 pieces

Rapid turnaround for engineering validation and proof-of-concept testing.

2

Low-volume production · 50–1,000 pieces

Flexible manufacturing for pilot runs and initial product launches.

3

Production · 1,000+ pieces

Optimized processes for repeatability, cost efficiency, and batch-consistent quality.

Our Shenzhen-based facility manages raw material sourcing, machining, and secondary processing within a single supply chain, helping reduce lead times for complex steel assemblies.
